Welcome to my little corner. I’ve tried to blog before and didn’t fully know my goal or what it was I wanted to achieve. I’ve taken a lot of time to develop myself and to ponder what it is I can offer to others. Now that we are moving into gear with our homestead, I feel that there is a wealth of wisdom to share with others. We have a three acre little farm. I am a practicing herbalist and real estate agent. We grow a lot of our food, harvest wild game and fish, and our recipes revolve around many of those things. We raise chickens, rabbits, turkeys, ducks and will have steers coming to the property soon. I have completed over 1500 hours of herbal studies with The Chestnut School of Herbs and The Herbal Academy. Between all of these things, I think its safe to say that a direction of natural health and homestead life will allow me to share many things from our day to day that could be useful to my readers as they join in.
More about us. I am a 39 year old mother of one. You may see my son from time to time, but he also has his own world. We homeschool, and I do develop homeschool packets and may share them with you all. I cook a lot, and I love developing my own recipes and sharing them with others. I take a lot of photos, so prepare for photo dumps! For the most part, I hope to share more of my herbal wisdom with my readers as well as gardening updates and products that I have available with time.
I have recently purchased 1.25 acres where I will be growing as many herbs as I can to utilize in the herbals. I have 20 chickens on the property, so you may see photos of them from time to time. We have four dogs as well. We live in North Central Florida, close to a river basin and about 30 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico. This means we have a plethora of wild edibles available to us as well as many wild medicinal plants that we can forage.
Our little life is busy but peaceful, and we always have something going on. Make sure to follow @jamie.martin0407 on Instagram for updates throughout the day as I tackle this little world of ours. I hope you all enjoy!
